Pleasant Hills Municipal Building & Public Works
Borough of Pleasant Hills
Pleasant Hills, PA – New Construction & Addition
In 2013, the Borough of Pleasant Hills commissioned CORE Architects to conduct an analysis of the existing 18,500 SF Pleasant Hills Borough Building, constructed in 1962. After careful consideration, the Borough determined that a new municipal complex would best serve the needs of the community.
During the next nine years, CORE Architects worked with the Borough to establish a building program and explore an array of master plan options that included various potential properties to house the new municipal complex. The stakeholders determined that their best option was to construct a new municipal building on their existing property, maintaining the relationship to the adjacent public park and athletic field.
The new municipal complex includes a new three level 24,300 sf Municipal Building along with a 12, 750 SF addition to the Public Works Facility. The new Municipal Building will house Borough Administration, Police, and Community Functions. The expansion of the Public Works Facility will more than double the area for indoor parking of large service vehicles. The Master Plan includes additional surface parking as needed to better serve the community.
Construction on this next-generation Municipal Complex is scheduled to begin in the Summer of 2024, with an anticipated duration of 16-18 months for completion.
