The Monroeville Volunteer Fire Company #1 addition and renovation involves the reconfiguration and expansion of the cramped living quarters and existing Fire/EMS operations space. The addition programmatically adds volunteer bunk space, kitchen area, office space, and a new egress tower.

The exterior recladding uses ribbed metal paneling to aesthetically mesh the new with the old. In some areas it brings the two together with purposeful unity; and in others it uses juxtaposition of the existing brick to bring highlight to both.
