Woodland Hills School District
Churchill, PA - Addition, Renovation - 318,900 sq/ft - $57 Million
CORE Architects is the Design Architect for the renovation and expansion of the Woodland Hills Jr./Sr. High School in the Woodland Hills School District. The scope for this project includes construction of a new addition to house the Administration, and a new addition to provide a pre-function space and new entrance to the Auditorium. The remainder of the 300,000 SF building has been renovated, with a new HVAC system with air-conditioning, new electrical power/service and lighting systems, plumbing upgrades, interior finish upgrades, and renovations to the Auditorium to accommodate Woodland Hills’ renown theater program.
This project is unique in that it is a Hybrid-Delivery Project. The additions and other components of the building have been constructed utilizing a traditional design-bid-build construction delivery method, while other components of the project have been constructed utilizing a partial guaranteed energy savings (GESA) project. This innovative construction process will allow the District to maximize construction dollars by selecting appropriate contractors and evaluating all energy-related system components of the existing building during construction to minimize unecessary replacement. The joint A/E-GESA team will also provide the District with the professional oversight to better protect the District’s interests during construction. We teamed on this project from the earliest feasibility study phase with SiteLogIQ, and utilized our Integrated A/E/CMa approach to K-12 project delivery.
